Visalia, C, in the fall, is quite lovely. The weather starts to cool down from the scorching summer heat, making it a more comfortable time to explore the area. While you won't get the dramatic autumn colors of the East Coast, you'll still see some trees changing their hues. Fall is an excellent time to visit the nearby national parks as the crowds thin out, and you can enjoy hiking, camping, and taking in the stunning scenery without the summer rush. Plus, various fall events and activities welcome in the spooky season.
Here are some of our favorite fall festivals and events to check out in and around Visalia.
The Visalia Chamber of Commerce Annual Oktoberfest will be at Vossler Farms on September 21. The City of Visalia is proud to present the annual event, which celebrates the traditions of the renowned German festival. This event will feature some of Central Valley's best food and entertainment.
Taste The Arts is a yearly festival organized by the Arts Consortium of Tulare County, the county's official arts organization. It occurs in downtown Visalia and celebrates our local artistic and cultural heritage. The free event features various activities for the entire family. It features over 70 local visual artists and a variety of other art forms. There will also be music and dancing on the Garden Street Plaza stage, as well as a variety of cultural performers. Kids can participate in various activities such as the “Fun with Food" sculpture contest and printmaking workshops.
Join the Center for Integrated Medicine to celebrate the Autumn Moon Festival with a Tea Tasting Gala! Eat Chinese hors d’oeuvres and moon cakes with other dishes authentic to the festival, learn about Chinese tea etiquette, and how to brew tea. All proceeds will benefit the Asian Cultural Society, and tickets are required due to limited seating.
The 9th Annual Purple Party will be held at the Valley Strong Ballpark in Visalia. This event supports the Karen's House, a local shelter for victims of domestic violence. The event is a purple-themed dinner that features a silent auction, as well as various other activities. You're invited to celebrate their 40th year of providing shelter and support to domestic violence victims.
Accompanied by a luxurious dinner and hotel experience, guests will be transported to Baker Street to meet the most famous detective in Scotland Yard, Sherlock Holmes. Throughout the evening, guests will encounter various twists and turns. The ticket includes three drinks, a four-course meal, and the immersive theatre experience!
Imagine U Museum Halloween Village
Are you looking for a safe and fun event for your children this Halloween? The Village Halloween at Imagine U is a great alternative to trick-or-treat. This event takes place in the museum's backyard, and it features various activities for kids. Community members decorate the doors. The event will also feature food vendors for adults, too. The event requires a lot of sweets to pass out to visitors. Please bring donations to the museum during business hours. An adult must accompany every child.
